Big Cats of MalaMala

Big Cats of Mala Mala sample spread.

There is no better place to observe Africa's big cats – the lion, leopard and cheetah - than in the Mala Mala Game Reserve. The reserve borders on the world famous Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga, South Africa and provides some of the best opportunities anywhere of seeing these fascinating creatures. We spent months in the reserve following and photographing them and captured some wonderful images, not all of which necessarily flatter the three species.

The text is written by Heather Dugmore and is chatty and informative. It covers Mala Mala's hunting and conservation background, gives a profile of the big cats and tells of various interactions between ourselves and the cats during our time in the reserve. Tales of colourful African traditions and folklore are skilfully interwoven throughout the text. Most people have a fascination for lions, leopards and cheetahs and this book provides further insight into the behaviour and spirit of these amazing carnivores.
