At Africa Imagery we have been involved in professional wildlife, travel and cultural photography for over 25 years. Camera Gear
We use Nikon cameras (D3x and D300) and lenses (14mm to 400mm). Why? They're very good - superb lenses (remember bad lens equals bad image - buy the best you can) and the highest pixel count of any  "35mm" digital cameras. This combination makes for really fine images.
Memory device

There's little point in shooting a bunch of really fine images only to have your memory cards fail you, either through slow write speeds or through memory failure resulting in corrupt files. Sandisk have never let us down and my new 8 gig SanDisk Extreme® IV Compact Flash®  card really reads data with a speed!
Camera Bags and Cases

Life in the African bush is harsh for cameras and computer equipment. The dust can be incredible and dust and digital cameras just don't get on well together! We've solved the problem. Tamrac and LowePro bags and pelican cases.
Mobile computing

In the age of digital imaging a fast reliable computer is essential. We regularly deal with files in excess of 50Mb and find that the Mac Book Pro 15" with 2 X 250gig USB drives works very well in the field.
Computing Software

There is a huge difference between using film and going digital: With film your involvement generally finishes when you send the film to the lab (with some exceptions of course) but with digital your involvement only begins when you press the shutter release button. To get great images you need great software and with Adobe there's no shortage of that.
